Float Framing:

When a stand alone work of art (on panel or on canvas) is placed securely inside a frame that does not overlap its edges.

Float Frames come in three styles that range from most expensive to most affordable:

Custom float framing includes your choice of: 

Wood

Commonly In-stock: Walnut, Maple, Ash, Red Oak, Cherry, Pine.

Special requests (Pricing subject to change)

Reveal *

Standard 1/4 inch gap all around the artwork, but up to 3 inches can be added (Pricing varies because of added stock). 

Painted or Natural (Commonly painted black to add depth and drama)

*Only available for top tier frames. 

Corner Style

Rounded or Regular Corners*

Splines or No Splines**

Splines: Thin strips of wood glued across the 45 degree joint to add strength and visual character.

Visual effect changes depending on the type of wood chosen for the splines.

*Rounded corners not (yet) available for Floater Frames. 

**Splines highly recommended for works larger than 20 inches. Also, not available for bottom tier frames.

Thickness

3/8ths (standard) of an inch up to 1 inch.

Exceptions can be made. 

Finish

Natural, Painted

Bleached, or Stained

Profile

1 1/2 inches (standard) up to 3 inches The thickness of the panel or canvas are factored in with the frame a minimum of 1/8th of an inch proud of the canvas or panel.  

Special exceptions can be made.
